We love finding charm that represent dates of birth or special months and this antique gold charm does just that! Perfect if you're born in February, or perhaps the month holds another significant value to you.
In the centre of the charm is a shamrock design set with one amthyst and two purple glass stones for leaves. Amethyst is the birthstone for February. The shamrock is set within a circular border that has been lovingly hand engraved 'February' to the top and 'Sincerity' to the bottom.
The charm is marked '9ct' to the back for 9ct gold (this gold mark is quite worn now and hard to read fully) and measures approx 19.2mm in diameter, approx 26mm tall including the jump ring, by approx 4mm deep. The charm weighs approx 1.5g in total. The circular border is hollow in the middle and has two small airholes to the back from when it was made.
Condition - The charm is in good antique condition but does show some signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold and stones. There are some small indents to the gold. The bottom right stone tests as amethyst and is a little darker in colour than the other two stones which test as glass. It could be that one or several of the stones have been replaced at some point in time. The gold has a lovely soft warm rose tone to it but is slightly yellower in places, mainly to the back.
