This antique sterling silver pendant has quite the story to tell! Featuring a crown in the centre to one side, the pendant reads 'BAND OF HOPE'. The pendant dates to 1906 and is linked to a temperance movement in the UK focused on preventing alcohol abuse by educating children, who joined by signing a pledge of abstinence.
The pendant is made of sterling silver and has British hallmarks for one side for the maker 'A.H.D', Birmingham, the silver lion passant and the date letter 'g' for 1906.
The fob measures approx 37.4mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 32.9mm wide by approx 1.5mm deep and weighs approx 6.2g in total.
Condition - The pendant is in good antique condition but does show some light signs of age and wear to silver. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the pendant will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
