Originally made as a fob case to hold your stamps, this antique sterling silver opening envelope makes such a beautiful pendant today. Store your keepsakes, like photos, a mini love letter or even a lock of hair inside!

The envelope is made of sterling silver and has British hallmarks inside for the maker 'HC*WN' for Crisford & Norris Ltd, the lion passant for sterling silver, Chester and the date letter 'D' for 1904. The envelope flap also has British hallmarks for sterling silver and the date letter 'D' for 1904 and even the jump ring is marked for sterling silver too!

The envelope measures approx 23.4mm tall (not including the fittings at the top) by approx 28.9mm wide by approx 3.9mm deep and weighs approx 4.9g in total.

Condition - The pendant is in good, wearable antique condition to say it is over 120 years old but it does show significant signs of age and wear throughout. There is surface wear to the silver throughout and indents front and back. The enamel has worn away in each of the letters, mainly to the top areas. The hinge still works well and the envelope flap clicks closed to stay closed when worn. When opened and closed a lot, the hinge pin can work its way out slightly but can be pushed back in again. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.

*Please note the chain and box pictured are not included in the sale but the stamp holder will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch*
