This antique gold and enamel locket has been so incredibly well made. Crafted in 18ct gold, the front features a posy of blue enamel forget me not flowers, likely a nod to the sentiment of keeping someone close to you inside the locket. The back of the locket also has such pretty detail too with some black enamel within the pattern. 
 
Inside the locket opens to reveal a glass window compartment for you to keep a photo or other small memento. The gold frame pulls out and there is a bevelled piece of glass with what looks to be the original red fabric backing inside. The locket closes firmly with a click and has two little lips, one to each half, so that you have something to grip when opening the locket. 
 
The locket is made of 18ct gold, tested. It does have some small marks to the ring at the top that the jump ring connects to but these are now too worn to read clearly.
 
The locket measures approx 20mm tall (not including the fitting at the top or the jump ring) by approx 16.8mm wide (when closed) by approx 5.6mm deep and weighs approx 4.2g.
 
Condition - The locket is in good antique condition but it does show some signs of age and wear. There is light surface wear to the gold and enamel, the enamel is overall in very good condition to the front, to the back some of the black enamel has worn away in places. The jump ring is currently soldered closed. The hinge mechanism of the locket still works well and the locket clicks closed. Please see photos.
