Often given as medals for competitions and engraved with the winner's details, we love to find these antique and vintage fobs to see what detailing they have.

This antique sterling silver fob is Victorian in age, having been made in 1896 and then awarded for a competition in 1897. It has beautiful hand engraved detailing to the front depicting a side profile of a pigeon, just look at that detail!

The back has been hand engraved too, with competition details that read:

'1897

Kemnay Show

Dragon Classes

Won by

Macandrew & Son

Forres'

The fob is made of sterling silver and has British hallmarks to the back featuring the lion passant for sterling silver, the Birmingham assay mark and the date letter 'm' for 1886. There is also a maker's mark for 'H.P'.

The fob measures approx 38mm tall (Not including the jump ring but including the fitting at the top) by approx 32.4mm wide by approx 3mm deep and weighs approx 17.3g.

Condition - The fob is in good antique condition but it does show signs of age and wear. There is surface wear to the silver, including tarnishing and rubbing in places to both the front and back. The jump rings are currently pushed closed. Please see photos.

*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the fob will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
