The birthstone for February, this wonderful vintage gold and amethyst gemstone charm adds such a lovely pop of colour to a charm collection, but looks just as beautiful worn alone as a pendant too. It would make a lovely birthstone piece!
The charm is made of 9ct yellow gold (tested, but the ring at the top that the jump ring connects to does look to have once been hallmarked but these marks are no longer fully legible). The charm measures approx 17.4mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 10.8mm wide and weighs approx 1.4g.
Without full hallmarks, it's hard to date the charm exactly but we have had another similar in the past set with a citrine that dates to the 1950s/60s so we think this is likely from a similar time.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold and amethyst. The amethyst has wear to the facets and some slight nibbling visible on close inspection. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
