Here's what's inside box eight of our 12 Days of Christmas (or Charm-mas if you will!) Advent Calendar... a miniature vintage 1970s gold opening dice charm! The charms is available at the special discounted price until we open box nine tomorrow at 6pm GMT (9th December 2022) too.
We love playing board games at Christmas and this sweet 1970s gold charm encapsulates so much of that fun. Not only that, but the two plastic dice inside can actually be removed and used too!
Made of a 9ct gold case, the bottom is hinged and actually opens to reveal two miniature plastic dice inside so you will always have a set of dice handy wherever you are!
The charm is made of 9ct yellow gold and has British hallmarks to the bottom for the maker 'FM', 9ct gold, London. There was originally a date hallmark but it is now too worn to read. The 9ct gold hallmark is from 1975 onwards and we believe the charm is likely late 1970s in age.
The charm measures approx 15.2mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 8.7mm wide by approx 8.5mm deep and weighs approx 1.5g in total.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some signs of age and wear. There is some surface wear to the gold and to the plastic dice inside. The hinge mechanism works well and the lid closes firmly with a click to stay closed when worn. The jump ring is currently soldered closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the chain and box pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch*
