This is such a sweet example of an antique, Victorian ring. Featuring a central round foiled back garnet in a closed setting, the garnet is surrounded by seed pearls to look like petals, with further seed pearls leading to each shoulder. 
The shoulders have lovely open work detail and the shank even has a line detail that runs all the way round the back of the ring. No attention to detail has been spared!
 
The ring is made of a 9ct gold, unhallmarked but tested.

The ring weighs approx 1.6g and it measures approx 8.6mm wide at the front, tapering down to approx 1.8mm wide at the back of the shank. 
Condition - The ring is in good antique condition to say it is over 100 years old but does show isgnificant signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold, garnet and seed pearls. We have given the ring a very light clean but under close inspection glue residue can be seen around the seed pearls and the garnet's setting. The garnet has light nibbles and surface wear and at least one of the pearls has a sight green tinge to it. There also looks to be wear to the foil underneath the garnet. There looks to be an old resizing mark to the back of the ring. Please see photos. 
Due to the closed, foiled back garnet and seed pearls, this ring must not come into contact with water or other liquids as it could damage and/or loosen the stones. It needs to be worn with care and is not recommended as an everyday ring.
