We can't help but be reminded of a clear, crisp night sky whenever we look at this antique gold ring. It's set with an old cut diamond in a pretty setting that almost looks like a twinkling star.

We love the buttery yellow of antique 18ct gold and the ring has a smooth, comfortable shape too. The face of the ring is slightly domed in shape (this is hollow in the centre) giving it a gorgeous side profile too with the old cut diamond peeking out of the top of the ring ever so slightly.  
 
The ring is made of a 18ct yellow gold and has British hallmarks inside the shank for 18ct gold, Birmingham and what looks to be the date letter 'q' for 1890. The date hallmark is a little worn at the bottom and there is also a maker's mark which is quite worn too but looks to be for 'W&H'.
 
Ring size - approx a US 6.5  / approx a UK N 
 
The ring weighs approx 2.1g and it measures approx 6mm wide at the front, tapering down to approx 3mm wide at the back of the shank. 

Condition - The ring is in good antique condition to say it is approx 134 years old but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold and diamond. We have tried to show this as best we can in the photos however due to the gold's reflective surface it is quite hard to capture in places. There are noticeable surface scratches to the gold around the diamond's setting. The back of the ring is also dinted in places from wear. The diamond has some very light surface wear and nibbles . Please see photos - the last two photos have been taken with a magnifying loupe so you can see the diamond under magnification.
