Styled on a Victorian hunting pin, we believe this beautifully detailed fox head and riding crop pin was made slightly later in the 1920s. The fox's face has a lot of detailing, including fur like marks, and has a 3D shape to it. The crop also has lots of lovely detailing too.

We originally bought this pin to convert it into a neckalce or ring, but then changed our minds. Its beautiful as is, but would also make a lovely statement conversion piece.

The pin is made from 9ct gold and is hallmarked on the reverse 9 375 for 9ct, the maker's mark E.S&Co, Birmingham, England, and has the date letter Z which we believe is for 1924. It weighs approx 3.3g.

Size - The pin measures 57mm long and at it's widest point (the fox's face), 13mm.

Condition - The pin is in good vintage condition. The pin is slightly mishapen but this does not effect the fastening and is still wearable. There is also a working safety catch to ensure that the pin doens't come loose when worn. There is some surface wear to the gold, including some rubbing under the fox’s eyes, especially to one side of its face which is much smoother in texture than the other side. Please see photos m
