We can't help but be reminded of a clear, crisp night sky whenever we look at this antique gold ring. It's set with a petite rose cut diamond in a star setting that almost looks like a real twinkling star.
Perhaps you're a night owl or a lover of all things celestial - if so we think this ring would be perfect for you! Diamonds are also the birthstone for April babies so this would make a beautiful birthstone piece. Or perhaps you're getting married and looking for a more unusual engagement or wedding ring?! The symbolism is almost endless!
We love the soft rose tone of the gold too, a shade of rose gold you only really find in antique pieces rather than the brighter rose gold used in new piece today.
The ring is made of a 9ct rose gold and has British hallmarks inside the shank for 9ct gold, Birmingham and what looks to be the date letter 'W' for 1921. The hallmarks are now a little worn and hard to make out clearly. There is also a maker's mark but this is also difficult to read.
Ring size - approx a US 7 1/4 / approx a UK O
The ring weighs approx 3g and it measures approx 8mm wide at the front, tapering down to approx 1.75mm wide at the back of the shank.
Condition - The ring is in good antique condition to say it is over 100 years old but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold and diamond. We have tried to show this as best we can in the photos however due to the gold's reflective surface it is quite hard to capture in places. Please see photos.
*Please note the antique box pictured is not included in the sale but the ring will be shipped in a new presentation ring box and pouch*
