How sweet is this antique gold brooch!? We think it depicts a pair of swallows, we like to think a pair of love birds, framed by a heart with a pretty little flower at the bottom.
The brooch is made of 9ct gold, marked '9ct' to the back. The brooch has a simple 'c' style clasp to the back with a tube hinge pin made of silver toned base metals which likely dates to the Victorian era. The brooch is hollow in the centre, air holes are visible at the back of the brooch from when it was made.
The brooch weighs approx 1.85g in total and measures approx 25.6mm wide by approx 19mm tall.
Condition - The brooch is in good antique condition to say it is over 100 years old but does show signs of age and wear. There are some small indents and surface wear to the gold. The pin fastening still works well. There is small ring at the top on the back of the brooch for a safety chain to attach to if required. Please see photos.
