Rose cut diamonds have to be one of our all time favourite cuts! Created centuries before electricity, the cut is said to look its best under candlelight. This antique rose cut diamond has been set in a simple rub over setting with an open back with a raised profile to let in the light. A simple gold band encases the setting on either side, making it a beautiful choice for an engagement ring. It also stacks well too, perfect to sit alongside a wedding band!
We love the warm tone of the gold too, a shade of gold you only really find in antique pieces rather than the brighter rose gold used in new pieces today.
The ring is made of a 9ct gold, unhallmarked but tested. Without hallmarks, it's hard to date the ring exactly but we believe given its style that is late Victorian in age, circa 1880s.
Ring size - approx a US 6 / approx a UK M
The ring weighs approx 2g and the diamond, including the setting measures approx 4.5mm by 5mm. The shank is approx 1.5mm wide at the back of the ring.
Condition - The ring is in good antique condition to say it is over 100 years old but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold and diamond. We have tried to show this as best we can in the photos however due to the gold's reflective surface it is quite hard to capture in places. There is a faint resize mark to the inside and outside of the shank at the back and some old dark solder marks from when the diamond setting was attached to the ring band. The last photo has been taken with a loupe to show the diamond under magnification. Please see photos.

Items sent outside of the UK are sent via Royal Mail's International signed for service, which offers insurance for up to £250 and tracking.
