We can never resist floral jewellery and this antique 18ct gold, silver and diamond flower ring is such a sweet piece! We love the old cut diamonds and how the twinkle in the light. This ring has definitely lived quite the life and we wish it could tell us stories of the things it's seen. 
 
The ring's shank is made of 18ct yellow gold, marked '18ct' inside the shank, and the flower is made of silver and set with seven old cut diamonds. Without further marks, it's hard to date the ring exactly but we think it's likely circa 1910-20s in age. 
 
Ring size - just over a US 6.5  / approx a UK N 
 
The ring weighs approx 1.4g and the flower measures approx 6.7mm by 6.6mm. The ring's shank is quite thin and measures approx 0.75mm wide at the back of the shank. 
Condition - The ring is in wearable antique condition but does show significant signs of age and wear. The diamonds all show surface wear, scratches, chips and nibbles. One is particularly chipped. We also think the ring's shank has been carved out at some point in time, this was ften done to try and make some money for the scrap gold rather than having to pawn the whole ring. This looks to have been done by thinning the shank and taking some of the gold that sits underneath the flower on each side. Where this gold has been taken, the gold left behind is a little rough to touch.  There are also some dark solder marks where the flower has been attached to the shank on both sides.
