We can never resist pave set turuqoise and this antique 15ct gold, silver and turquoise pendant is such a beautiful example! It reminds us of a miniature cobblestone road laid with brightly coloured turquoise cabochons in vibrant shades of blues and greens. We think it also looks a lot like a fancy turtle/tortoise shell too!
We love how the turquoise stones vary in shades of blues and greens that vary in shape and size from round to oval. There are 37 turquoise cabochons in total.
The pendant isn't hallmarked which is common for a piece of this age. The gold tests as 15ct gold (the back of the pendant, bail and jump ring) and the settings of the turquoise cabochons are silver. Without hallmarks, it's hard to date the pendant exactly but we think it's likely mid-late Victorian in age, circa late 19th Century.
The pendant measures approx 17mm tall (including the bail at the top but not the jump ring) and is approx 12.1mm wide by approx 7mm deep. It weighs approx 1.85g.
Condition - The pendant is in good antique condition but please note it does show some signs of age and wear which is common for a piece that is over 100 years old. The turquoise stones show signs of age including surface wear, chips and nibbles and they do vary in shades of green and blue. The back gold panel of the pendnat also has surface wear and a small indentation to it. The jump ring is currently soldered closed. Please see photos.

Items sent outside of the UK are sent via Royal Mail's International signed for service, which offers insurance for up to £250 and tracking.
