Bees carry such a lot of symbolism; including fertility, focus, industry and persistence to name just a few things! This vintage sterling silver opening beehive charm is not only lovely to look at from the outside, but it also opens up to reveal a tiny bee inside too.

The charm is made of sterling silver and is marked 'SIL' to the bottom. It came from a charm bracelet that dates to the 1950s so we think it was likely made around this time.

The charm measures approx 15.5mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 14.9mm wide by approx 13.5mm deep and weighs approx 3.8g.

Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some light surface wear and patina to the silver throughout. The hinge mechanism still works well and the charm closes with a firm click to stay closed when worn. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.

*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
