These vintage spinner charms are such fun pieces of jewellery. With parts of a secret message written onto each side of the disc, the message is only revealed when you spin the charm. This particular charm has a cheeky little monkey featured at the top and the message is tad rude so it's definitely not for the easily offended!
We've not seen another quite like it before - when spun the disc reads in German 'Leck mich am arsch' which translates to 'Lick me in the ass/arse'. From research, it's likely based on music composed by Mozart in the 1780s which was thought to be a party piece written for his friends. The German idiom is similar to the English phrase 'Kiss my arse' or 'Kiss my ass' in American English. It's sure to be a conversation starter whenever it's worn!
The charm is made of base metal and weighs approx 4.3g in total and measures approx 32.6mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 25.3mm wide. The disc measures approx 19mm in diameter.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear to the metal. There is surface wear and some tarnishing to both sides and the engraved message has some white detail to highlight the letters and this has worn away in some places. The frame is still in good shape so the disc can spin freely. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos
*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
