This vintage gold opening record player charm would be perfect for a music lover, or a singer or musician! hand engraved with a treble clef to the outside, the little box looks a lot like a locket and opens to reveal a tiny vinyl record and tone arm inside.
The charm is made of 9ct yellow gold and is marked '9ct' to the outside on the back of the charm. The vinyl record inside looks to be made of black plastic and the tone arm is also made of 9ct gold.
It’s hard to date the charm exactly without full British hallmarks but given its style and 9ct gold mark we think it’s likely approx 1950s in age.
The charm weighs approx 2.1g and measures (when closed) approx 12.4mm tall (not including the jump ring but including the handle on the record player) by approx 12.1mm wide by approx 7.2mm deep.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some light surface wear to the gold throughout. There are some marks to the gold on the outside near the hand and on the inside. When closed, the lid sits ever so slightly off to one side but this is only noticable on close inspection and doesn't hinder the closing mechanism. The hinge works well and the charm clicks closed to stay closed when worn. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
