Snakes have been a popular motif in jewellery for centuries. Said to symbolise fidelity, eternity and rebirth, snake rings can make a truly unusual yet symbolic engagement and wedding rings if you're lookin for something a little bit out of the ordinary and this vintage snake ring would make a lovely choice!
The ring is made of 9ct yellow gold with white gold wash detailing to the snake's face too. There are British hallmarks inside the shank, these aren't too clear in places but the 9ct gold mark can just about be made out, as well as the mark for Birmingham and the date letter 'O' for 1988. The snake has two small ruby eyes and a small diamond set into its head. The snake has been made to look like it is wrapped around your finger when the ring is worn, almost as if it is creating a never ending circle.
The ring weighs approx 1.65g and is approx 9.3mm wide to the front with the shank at the back of the ring tapering down to approx 1.75mm wide.
Ring size - approx a US size 6 1/4 / approx a UK M
Condition - The ring is in good vintage condition but does show some signs of age and wear, including some light surface wear to the gold, diamond and rubies. Please see photos.
*Please note the antique box pictured is not included in the sale but the ring will be shipped in a new presentation ring box and pouch*
