We love to come across vintage and antique dog charms, you never know which breed you're goin to find next. This vintage 9ct gold dog charm is really quite rare as it has the most beautiful enamel detailing to the front which is in fantastic condition considering it's over 70 years old! We think the charm is likely supposed to be an Irish setter with it's brown and rust coloured coat, beautiful long tail and silky looking ears.
The charm is made of 9ct gold gold and has British hallmarks on the back for the maker 'T&S' (the S section of the mark is a little worn and hard to make out), 9ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'Y' for 1948. The charm measures approx 20mm nose to tail 14.3mm tall and weighs approx 1.1g in total. The charm has enamel detailing to the front and is plain to the back besides the hallmarks.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some light signs of age and wear, including some light surface wear to the gold and the enamel. Often vintage enamel charms like these have significant wear to the enamel as it can scratch and chip, especially when worn with other charms, but the enamel is in lovely condition for its age. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the chain and box pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch*
