A popular motif during the Victorian era, anchors are known to symbolise hope and throughout time they have often been associated with people in the navy, or setting sail on voyages.
These delicate vintage anchor drop earrings would make the perfect sentimental gift. Each earring features a hollow 9ct gold anchor which have beautiful markings. The anchors measure approx 14.5mm by 9mm (not including the ear wire). There are two small holes on the reverse of each anchor from when the earrings were made.
Each anchor is hallmarked for 9ct gold, Birmingham, England and we believe they have the date letter Q for 1990 (on one of the anchors this date mark is only partially visible). The ear wires are also each marked for 9ct gold.
Each earring weighs approx 0.5g.
Condition - The earrings are in good vintage condition and show little sign of wear. They have a loop over fastening to secure the earrings in place and this still works fine. We clean all earrings before being sold.
