Said to symbolise cleverness, foxes are known an as cunning creatures. In some cultures, they are viewed as a guide to help you navigate the spirit world too!
We love the detail that's gone into highlighting this beautiful fox's features. Poised mid-leap, the fox is jumping through a downturned horseshoe. Although seen as unlucky by some when pointing downwards, horseshoes facing this way are actually seen to be lucky by some as they believe the luck is 'showering out' (as apposed to upright horseshoes which keep the luck in).
The charm is made of 9ct yellow gold and does have British hallmarks to the fox although almost all of these are hidden by the horseshoe. The 9ct gold mark is partially visible and we can see it pre dates 1975. The London assay mark is also visible although sadly the date hallmark is not so we can't date the charm exactly but we think it's likely early 1970s in age, possibly even a little early into the late 1960s.
The charm measures approx 17.25mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 27.4mm nose to tail and weighs approx 3.7g.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some light surface wear to the gold throughout. The jump ring is currently pushed closed Please see photos.
*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
