We love a nostalgic vintage charm and this vintage 1960s gold parking meter charm would have once been practical as well as beautiful! The charm features a gold parking meter that opens up to reveal a real British 1960 sixpence coin held inside, perfect to wear for keeping change to hand for parking!
Sadly sixpence coins can no longer be spent but we love the history this charm holds. It's been so beautifully made too, with details to the front and back.
The charm is made of 9ct gold with British hallmarks for the maker 'G&T.J', 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'm' for 1967. The other side of the charm is also hallmarked for 9ct gold. The coin held inside is a real British silver sixpence coin that dates to 1960.
The charm measures approx 30mm tall (not including the jump ring at the top) by approx 19.3mm wide (the gold parking meter part of the charm measures approx 14.2mm wide not including the coin) by approx 7mm deep and weighs approx 7.55g in total, the gold part of the charm weighs approx 4.75g on its own without the coin.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some light signs of age and wear, including some light surface wear to the gold. The hinge mechanism still works well and the charm clicks closed to stay closed when worn. The jump ring is currently soldered closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the chain and box pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch*
