Here's what's inside the fourth box of our 12 Days of Christmas (or Charm-mas if you will!) Advent Calendar...a vintage gold and enamel opening Christmas house/chalet charm! The charm is available at a special festive discounted price until we open box five at 6pm GMT 5th December 2024 too.
 
How incredibly sweet is this 1960s charm!? No detail has been spared, from the tiny enamel and gold Christmas tree outside to the front and the miniature enamel beds inside. The house even has little cutout heart windows to the sides and a little chimney for Santa!
 
There is what looks to be a window near the top of the chalet that's known as a Stanhope lens. This may have once had a tiny image inside that when held up the light and looked through you could see. It doesn't have anything visible today but does look like a very sweet porthole style window!
 
The charm is made of 9ct gold and has British hallmarks on the bottom for the maker 'ZLD', 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'f' for 1961.
 
The charm weighs approx 3.6g and measures approx 11.6mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 11.9mm wide by approx 10.5mm deep.
 
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold and enamel in places where the gold now shows through. The Stanhop lens, as mentioned above, doesn't show an image when looked through. The hinge mechanism works well and the charm closes firmly with a click. The jump ring is currently pushed closed.
