This tiny vintage gold opening egg charm is just so sweet. Not only is the egg beautifully decorated to the outisde and has a gold bow, but the chick inside is decoarted in bright enamel too!
The charm is made of 9ct gold and has British hallmarks on the bottom for the maker 'FM' 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'i' for 1964.
The charm measures approx 12.4mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 9.2mm wide by approx 10mm deep and weighs approx 3.2g in total.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but does show some signs of age and wear. There is some light surface wear to the gold and there is also some enamel loss to the chick inside, mainly to its beak. The red enamel has also run onto the edge of the egg when the charm was made. The opening mechnaism of the charm works well and does click to close but the hinge mechanism is a little loose so there is movement to the two halves of the egg when closed and doesn't close as firmly as it once would have. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
