We love a vintage gold charm that opens and the more unusual the better! We've found a couple of vintage gold pan charms over the years but this is the first we've ever found with an opening lid. The lid is connecting by a little chain too so that it's always connected. The pan is roomy enough inside to be used as a tiny locket too, perhaps to a mini photo or other dinky memento.
The charm is made of 9ct yellow gold and has British hallmarks to the bottom of the pan for the maker 'SSMCO', 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'd' for 1959.
The charm weighs approx 0.95g and measures approx 19.8mm long (not including the jump ring) by approx 9.5mm wide. The pan pot is approx 6.3mm tall without the lid.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some light surface wear to the gold throughout. The pan lid does fit snugly still and needs a little pull to open so it should stay closed when worn. It fits flush to the pan in some places and sits a little less flush in others. The jump ring is currently soldered closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
