A popular design used in the Victorian era, swallows were believed to represent love and were also given as a symbol of returning safely to your loved ones. The swallow mates for life, making this pendant/charm a beautiful gift for a special someone to symbolise your commitment to each other. We think it would make an incredibly sentimental gift for a bride to be!

The charm is made from 9ct yellow gold and has British hallmarks on the back for the maker 'WJP', 9ct gold, Chester and the date letter ‘F’ for 1956. The swallow has lovely detailing to the front and is plain to the back. The charm is hollow in the middle.

The pendant measures approx 17.6mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 12.7mm wide by approx 1mm deep. The charm weighs approx 0.4g.

Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some signs of age and wear, including light surface wear to the gold. There are some very faint hand engravings on the back of the charm near the hallmarks that we can’t fully read. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos for more detail.

*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
