We love searching for vintage and antique charms as you never know quite what you're going to find next! Like this vintage gold and enamel leaner driver sign charm, we've never seen another quite like it before!
A white rectangular enamel charm with a large red 'L' initial, in the UK is known as the sign for a learner driver, and is display on their car. The signs have also been worn by brides to be on their hen parties. We think it would be such a fun charm for someone who loves quirky jewellery!
The charm has wonderful enamel detailing to the front and is made of 9ct gold with British hallmarks to the back for the maker 'IG', 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'a' for 1956.
The charm measures approx 15.7mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 13.4mm wide by approx 0.7mm deep and weighs approx 1.15g in total.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition considering it's age but it does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold and damage to the enamel. The top left corner of the enamel, near the jump ring, has a large chip. The jump ring is currently soldered closed and has an old dark solder mark to it. Please see photos.
*Please note the chain and box pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch*
