How full of love is your heart? This vintage gold weighing scale charm is such a fun piece. It has a tiny spring inside, meaning the scales actually move up and down as if they work!
The weighing scale is made of 9ct yellow gold and has British hallmarks on the back for the maker 'A&W', 9ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'C' for 1952. There is beautiful detailing to the front , depicting the different weight markers and pretty scroll engraving to the top and bottom too. The heart is a later addition and is made of 9ct rose gold (tested as it is unhallmarked).
The charm measures approx 35.5mm tall (not including the jump ring), the scales are approx 5mm wide and the heart is approx 6mm wide. The charm weighs approx 1.25g in total. The heart is hollow in the middle.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some light signs of age and wear, including some surface wear to the gold of both the weighing scales and the heart. The spring mechanism does still work btu needs to be used with care. This looks to be made of base metal, not gold. Please see the video above to see how it moves. The jump ring at the top of the charm and the jump ring connected to the heart are currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the chain and box pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch*
