The best thing about vintage and antique charms is that you never know what you're going to find next. This vintage, 1950s gold lipstick charm is a super rare one and we fell in love as soon as we laid eyes on it! We adore how the little pink lipstick moves up and down within the gold holder.
The charm is made of 9ct gold with British hallmarks on the bottom for the maker 'FM', 9ct gold, London and the date letter 'Q' for 1951.
The charm measures approx 15.5mm tall when the lipstick is down within the holder by approx 8.7mm wide (not including the jump ring but including ring fitting) by approx 5.2mm deep and weighs approx 0.8g. When fully lifted, the lipstick sits approx 9mm tall outside of the gold case, including the plastic fitting.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition but the lipstick itself does show significant signs of age. The gold does have surface wear to it and the hallmarks are a little worn. The pink lipstick is made of a material that feels a little like rubber but with a slightly chalky texture too and sits in what looks to be a plastic holder. Both the lipstick and holder are now significantly discoloured. There is a dark spot mark to the top of the lipstick. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
