Here's what's inside box 11 of our 12 Days of Christmas (or Charm-mas if you will!) Advent Calendar... a vintage gold opening Jack in a box charm! The charms is available at the special discounted price until we open box 12 at 6pm GMT (12th December 2023) too.
We can't help but think of the famous scene from one of our favourite Christmas films, Elf, whenever we see this charm! At first glance, it looks like a simple gold box but when you push open the catch at the side, a tiny little plastic Jack pops out of the top!
The charm is made of 9ct gold and is marked '9ct' to the bottom. The Jack inside is made of plastic. Without further marks, it's hard to date the charm exactly but we think it's likely circa 1950s in age.
The charm measures approx 11.1mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 7.8mm wide by approx 9.6mm deep and weighs approx 2.1g in total.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with some light surface wear to the gold. The pop up spring mechanism still works well. The plastic Jack inside is a little worn in places. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the chain and box pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch*
