Often given as medals for compeitions and engraved with the winner's details, we love to find these vintage fobs to see what detailing they have to the front. This incredible gold fob has the most beautiful detailing to the front depicting a lady sat with a plan in a pot admiring the sun setting behind her.
To the back the fob has been hand engraved so we know the compeition it was awarded in! It reads:
'EDLINGTON HOUSE
GARDENS
COMPETITION
1936
FIRST PRIZE'
The fob is made of 9ct gold and has British hallmarks to the back for the maker 'W&H', 9ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'M' for 1936.
The fob measures approx 30mm tall (Not including the jump ring but including the fitting at the top) by approx 26mm wide and weighs approx 8.25g.
Condition - The fob is in good vintage condition but does show some signs of age and wear. There is some light surface wear to the gold, including a little tarnishing in places. The jump ring is currently soldered closed and is a little worn, along with the ring at the top too. Please see photos.
*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the fob will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
