We love snake jewellery and couldn't help but be drawn to this vintage 14ct gold snake charm. Snakes are said to represent eternal love and were a very popular symbol during the Victorian era, thanks to Queen Victoria having a snake ring as her engagement ring! And more than 120 years on from her reign, snake rings are still very popular today and highly collectable.
We love the way this vintage gold snake has been designed as if it's slithering along. The front has lovely details to depict its head and scales and the back has been left plain and is slightly concave.
The charm is made of 14ct gold, partially marked '585' to the back. There is also a partial maker's mark but it's hard to make out fully.
The charm weighs approx 1.2g and measures approx 25.8mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 13.4mm wide by approx 1.5mm deep.
Condition - The charm is in good vintage condition with light signs of age and wear, including light surface wear to the gold. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the antique box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation ring box and pouch.*
