We love finding these antique love tokens, you never know what engravings you're going to find! These sentimental gifts were made of coins, smoothed down on either one side or both and then hand engraved with names, terms of endearment, special dates or even secret messages and then gifted to your loved one - such a sweet present to show your love!
This Victorian British love token has been smoothed down partly on one side and then hand engraved 'Annie' keeping the original crown and wreath detail. The other side has been left as is and shows the side profile of Queen Victoria. We believe from its diameter it was originally a threepence coin, a coin no longer in circulation in the UK, that dates to between 1887 and 1893.
The love token is made of sterling silver (unmarked) and measures approx 16.2mm in diameter (approx 23.1mm tall including the jump ring at the top) and weighs approx 1.55g.
Condition - The love token is in good antique condition with some surface wear and patina to the silver. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the pendant will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
