This lovely antique flower ring is such an unusual piece. It features a central rose cut diamond in a silver claw setting, surrounded by five smaller rose cut diamonds set in closed back silver settings. There are two further smaller diamonds, one on each of the ring's shoulders, also set in silver.
The ring's shank is made from gold. The ring isn't hallmarked, which is common for a piece of this age - we believe it's from the Victorian era - but the gold does test as at least 9ct. From testing we believe it is most likely 12ct gold.
The ring's face measures approx 14.5mm by 9mm (including the diamond shoulders). The shank measures approx 1.5mm wide. The ring weighs approx 1.6g.
Ring size - US 5 1/2 / approx a UK L 1/2
Condition - The ring is in good antique condition but it does show signs of wear and age. The shank has light surface scratches and the diamonds are scratched in places. The diamonds are all hand cut so they do vary in size and shape. We believe the top (face) of the ring may be from a different piece of jewellery that has been repurposed with a new shank. We also think that the central diamond may have been a later additon as it is set differently to the diamonds around the edge. Please see photos.
