Turquoise was a very popular stone used in jewellery during the Victorian period - this halo style setting is one of our absolute favourites! The central turquoise stone is surrounded in a halo style with small rose cut diamonds of different shapes and sizes. The ring also has lovely scroll style shoulders. The ring is made from hallmarked 18ct yellow gold. The ring is also partially hallmarked for Birmingham, England (some of this hallmark has been lost due to a previous resize) and the date letter a for 1900. The ring weighs approx 3.8g and the face measures approx 10mm by 9mm. The shank measures approx 2mm wide. Ring size - just under a UK O/just under a US 7 Condition - The ring is in good antique condition. There is a resize mark visible at the back of the shank, this also disturbed the gold hallmarks so only part of the Birmingham anchor hallmark is now visible. The turuoise stone moves ever so slighly in its setting, but we've had several of the claws holding the stone retipped to make sure the stone is secure. The shank has light surface scratches from age and wear. The turquoise stone has natural changes in colour and dark marks/lines. Please see photos for more detail. *Please note the box pictured is not included in the sale*
