We love a piece of jewellery that can hold a secret memento and this antique silver floral tube locket is large enough to keep a rolled up photo or memento close by whenever it's worn!
 
The outside of the pendant has lovely floral detailing, it is now a little worn smooth in places which makes us think this piece has been cherished and worn, smoothing over the detail over the many years it has been loved. 
We think it was likely worn on a lady’s chatelaine, a chain that would have held precious and useful objects that clipped onto your outfit. We think given the pendants size it likely held needles or pins for sewing and dates to around 1900, early 20th Century. 
The locket opens with a simple twist and pull motion. There is a tiny hook style cutout to the lid which holds the two sections together when closed. 
 
The pendant is made of silver, unhallmarked but tested. The inside of the tube hasn't been tested and could possibly be lined with a base metal for strength. 
 
The pendant when closed measures approx 43.3mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 10mm wide and weighs approx 3.4g.
 
Condition - The pendant is in good, wearable antique condition but does show significant signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the silver and the pattern to the outside has worn smooth in places. There is a dent to one side of the locket. The opening of the locket is a simple twist and the lid has a tiny little hook style piece that keeps the top in place. The jump ring is currently soldered closed. Please see photos.
