This is one of the most wonderfully detailed charms we've found to date! Modelled on a Victorian baby's rattle, it has a small piece of coral at one end to represent the teether, with a whistle at the other decorated in four tiny replica bells.

The charm tests as at least 9ct gold (it is unhallmarked) and we think it could possibly date to the Victorian era, or is perhaps slightly later made but based on the Victorian style.

The charm measures approx 13.4mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 22.7mm wide by approx 13mm deep and weighs approx 1.35g in total.

Condition - The charm is in good antique condition but does show some light signs of age and wear, including some light surface wear to the gold. Please note that the whistle doesn't work and the bells don't jingle, we think it has been made as a replica so has never worked like this. The coral has been glued in places so the charm must not come into contact with water. The jump ring is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.

*Please note the box and chain pictured are not included in the sale but the charm will be shipped in a new presentation box and pouch.*
