One of our favourite diamond cuts has to be rose cut and this antique 9ct gold and diamond ring has the sweetest rose cut diamond nestled in the centre - just look at that gorgeous side profile! The star design setting is a lovely extra touch too.
The face of the ring we believe is Victorian in age and looks to have been reshanked at some point in time, we think liekly circa 1910s-20s, with a beautiful chunky gold shank. The shoulders have such a wonderful three-pronged design, meaning the ring is pretty spectacular from all angles.
The shank is marked '9ct' for 9ct gold and has such a lovely soft, warm rose tone to it. The single rose cut diamond is set in a closed star design setting (possibly foiled beneath the diamond to give extra depth and sparkle).
The ring weighs just under 4g, at approx 3.95g, and the ring's face is approx 9.2mm in diameter. The ring's shank is approx 3mm wide at the back of the ring.
Ring size - approx just over a US 8 / approx a UK Q
Condition - The ring is in good antique condition but does show some signs of age and wear, including some light surface wear to the goldand diamond. The shank we think is a slightly later replacement as mentioned above. As the diamond is in a closed back setting we do not recommend letting the ring come into contact with water or any other liquids. Please see photos.
*Please note the antique box pictured is not included in the sale but the ring will be shipped in a new presentation ring box and pouch*
