We can't help but be drawn to the bright pink rubies and the sparkle of the diamonds in this antique 18ct gold ring. It would be perfect for either a July or April baby (diamond is the birthstone for April and ruby is the birthstone for July), or even a couple born in those two months!
The ring has been made in 18ct yelow gold and is set with a central ruby, with a diamond either side and then two smaller rubies, one on either side too. The ring has a lovely curved shaped face and pretty detailing to the gold on either side of the ring's face too. There are British hallmarks inside the shank for 18ct gold, Birmingham and the date letter 'q' for 1915. There is also a mark of '75' inside the shank which we think is likely a jeweller's stock mark.
The ring weighs approx 2.9g and is approx 6.8mm wide to the front, tapering down to approx 2.5mm wide at the back. The central ruby measures approx 3mm in diameter, the two diamonds are approx 2.3mm in diameter and the two outer rubies are approx 2.2mm in diameter.
Ring size - approx a US size 6.75 / approx a UK N - N 1/2
Condition - The ring is in good antique condition with some signs of age and wear including surface wear to the gold, diamonds and rubies. One of the smaller outer rubies does have a small abrasion to one of its facets which is visible under close inspection. The last three photos have been taken with a loupe to show a magnified view of the stones. The hallmarks have some wear to them but are still legible. Please see photos.
*Please note the antique box pictured is not included in the sale but the ring will be shipped in a new presentation ring box and pouch*
