We love how cleverly this antique 15ct gold cube charm has been made. Not only has it been beautifully decorated with two small turquoise cabochons and one small seed pearl, one of the sides is hinged and opens to reveal a compartment inside. The hinged side has been intricately made so it sits flush with the rest of the cube and only a small section of the hinge is visible.
You could hide a variety of things inside, from a small photo or love letter, to a in-case-of emergency pill!
The locket is made of 15ct gold, marked 15ct inside the lid. Without further marks, it's hard to date the charm exactly but we believe it's most likely Victorian in age, circa late 19th Century.
The charm measures approx 14.5mm tall (not including the jump ring) by approx 9.2mm wide by approx 13mm deep and weighs approx 1.95g
Condition - the charm is in good antique condition but does show signs of age and wear including surface wear to the gold inside and out, and also to the turquoise and seed pearl. The hinged section can move a little when worn but it does click closed. The turquoise and seed pearls all show signs of age and wear. The jump ring is a new 9ct gold ring that is currently pushed closed. Please see photos.
