We can't help but be reminded of a clear, crisp night sky whenever we look at this antique gold, emerald and seed pearl star ring. It's set with a central, square cut emerald that is surrounded by seed pearls.

We think the star likely started life as part of an antique, likely Victorian, brooch or stick pin and has been converted into a ring at some point in time.
 
The ring is made of 15ct yellow gold (unhallmarked but tested) and the stones are all set in closed back settings.
 
Ring size - approx just under a US 7 1/2 / approx a UK O 1/2 
 
The ring weighs approx 1.95g and the star measures approx 14.2mm tall by approx 14.2mm wide. The ring band measures approx approx 1.25mm wide at the back of the shank. The stones can't be measured precisely whilst in their settings, but the emerald is approx 3.5mm by 3.5mm. The seed pearls vary in sizes. 

Condition - The ring is in good antique condition but does show signs of age and wear, including surface wear to the gold, emerald and seed pearls. The emerald has nibbling and some chips to the corners of the stone and there looks to be a foil backing to the emerald which has discoloured over time. Please see photos - the last two photos have been taken with a magnifying loupe so you can see the emerald and seed pearls under magnification. This ring must not come into contact with liquids as it will further damage the setting of the emerald and seed pearls. The points of the star are a little sharp to touch and can catch on  things when worn so care must be taken when wearing the ring.
